  • Well hear we go again.young protected paper champions, claiming to be the future of boxing.the future of what, hand picking guys they know they can beat, and when you question the opposition they want to throw in a pack of wolves to intimidate you from asking questions about the quality of the opponent.Listen danny and his father Angel Garcia are out to make all the money they can before hes exposed as nothing but paper champion.enjoy your belts as long as you can,you have been exposed. no future in the welterweight division Danny Boy….

  • There you go! Nice fight, Danny!
    *sarcasm off*

I’m just truly disgusted. As I stated before – this is a fight nobody needs. This is how severe damages, how fatalities in the ring occur. Now I know – nobody forced “lightning” Rod to get into that ring, but why was he allowed to? One can just be grateful that it was all over & done after two rounds. Just imagine if Salka would’ve possessed an outworldly chin and extended the mismatch into the later rounds. This could’ve ended deadly.
And – dear Danny & Lamont – don’t blame it on your management. The fighters have and should have the last word on matchmaking. Don’t hide behind the phrase “My manager makes the fight. I just fight.”

Anyway you put it – my respect for a fighter like Hopkins rises even more after such a fight night.
Lets just hope that twitterverse keeps on the pressure that we don’t have to go through such mismatches again.

  • Why they put a card like this together is beyond me. It really doesn’t help anybody. Not Garcia, not Peterson, not Salka, not the promoters, not boxing and certainly not us fans. Salka hasn’t fought a single 12 rounder – damn it! This mismatch can also be downright dangerous.
Garcia & his clan is getting some heat for this move – rightly so. I hope they remember it next time!
