TUESDAY MORNING “MMA REPORT
STRIKEFORCE HEAVYWEIGHT TOURNEY RIGHT AROUND THE CORNERSan Francisco, CA– There are many of us in the media that think Scott Coker, President of the Strikeforce MMA promotion, is at times less than professional. Coker doesn’t return phone calls (ask a Hall of Fame promoter about that) and is aloof when it comes to details. His heavyweight tourney with two quarterfinal round fights on Saturday, Feb. 12, live on SHOWTIME from E. Rutherford, N.J. In the main event, Fedor Emelianenko (31-2, 1 NC) will face Antonio “Big Foot” Silva (15-2). While Coker dresses like Kramer of Seinfeld fame, he was smart enough to sell half of the promotion to a Silicon Valley group for $6 million cash!

NEW YEARS UFC EVENT DID POORLY ON PPV
Initially, Dave Meltzer, he being the genius behind the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, thought the January 1 UFC PPV event involving Frankie Edgar did about 340,000 buys. Those numbers are being lowered to closer to 300,000 homes.
“MR. WONDERFUL” HAS CANCER ISSUES & “SUPERSTAR GRAHAM” IN BAD SHAPE!
Paul Orndorff was a tremendous draw in the 80s. As Mr. Wonderful. a buffed up professional wrestler, Orndorff was cut up like a young man well into his 40s. Now 61, Orndorff has been diagnosed with Cancer in two different parts of his body. Paul said the Cancer was treatable, but the manner in which the story was told to me, he’s in deep trouble health wise. Speaking of guys who have problems because of their unabashed use of Steroids, Billy “Superstar” Graham was driven by a friend from Phoenix to Los Angeles for an autograph signing in late January. Don’t be surprised if it ends up being Billy’s last public appearance, as his body is about as broken down as one can get!
DOPED OUT WRESTLER COPS TO BANK ROBBERY!
Combat Zone Wrestling performer Nick Gage (Nicholas Wilson) told the Philadelphia Daily News that he was loaded when he robbed a New Jersey bank of $3,000 on New Years Eve. Like a lot of wrestlers, Gage got hooked on painkillers. When video clips of Gage robbing the bank was released on TV and the Internet, people in the wrestling bizness dropped a roll of dimes on Gage that led to his arrest. Looking at a minimum of two years in the joint, Gage took the $3K to Atlantic City got drunk and played roulette.
