Ronda Rousey NOT Happy After TUF 18

Los Angeles, CA- All eyes in the mixed martial arts world were on Las Vegas for The Ultimate Fighter Season 18 finale. In the main event, Nate Diaz (18-9) brutalized Gray Maynard (12-4-1) for a first round stoppage and in the process regained some traction in the lightweight (155 lb.) division. Once Diaz had Maynard hurt, it was all over. A short counter right dropped Maynard and an uncontested subsequent barrage of punches, kicks and knees against the cage forced the referee to halt the contest at 2:38.

REFEREE DID NOT SAVE MAYNARD FROM UNDUE PUNISHMENT!

The stoppage looked a bit late to me, as Maynard was clearly out on his feet as the last few punches of Diaz landed and collapsed after what was to many, not just myself, a very tardy stoppage. Diaz takes a 2-1 lead in his fights with Maynard, previously scoring a third round submission and losing a controversial split decision to Maynard aka “The Bully.”

TEAM TATE SMASHES TEAM ROUSEY IN FEMALE FINALE

In the final matchup between Team (Ronda) Rousey and Team (Miesha) Tate at 135 lbs., Julianna Pena (5-2, 1-0 UFC) of Team Tate put a beating on Jessica Rakoczy (1-4, 0-1 UFC) of Team Rousey for a TKO1 after 4:59. Pena dominated from the opening bell, taking Rakoczy down and punishing her with brutal shots. Pena wins a spot on the UFC roster in what is becoming a very exciting bantamweight division. This was the finale of what has been a very entertaining eighteenth season of The Ultimate Fighter. My only question is how did Rakoczy ever end up in the finals considering her not so stellar record?

TUF 18 MENS FINALE WAS OVERSHADOWED BY THE CHICKS!

In the bantamweight (135) men’s finale, Chris Holdsworth took apart Davey Grant before slapping a rear naked choke hold to garner the bantamweight tournament finale at 2:02 of round two. With the victories, Pena and Holdsworth are guaranteed UFC contracts and a fat bonus!
