DID CONOR MCGREGOR PROVE HIMSELF?

McGregor Finishes Off Game Mendes

McGregor Finishes Off Game Mendes

Los Angeles, CA-The much-discussed Conor McGregor (18-2) got the biggest win of his career against Chad Mendes (17-3) on Saturday night, but just how much did it mean?  Mendes took the fight on about two weeks notice and seemed to gas out after about a round, but Conor was able to capitalize on the situation and defeat his opponent by TKO 2 at 4:57 of round two.

MENDES OWNED CONOR WHILE GRAPPLING

Mendes is one of the best wrestlers in the featherweight (145 lb.) division and was able to take McGregor down 3 times on 4 attempts.  He was unable to avoid the thunderous left hand of the Irishman, which connected and dropped him before McGregor landed a few more to bring a swift end to the contest.

DID MENDES PEN BLUEPRINT ON BEATING CONOR?

McGregor did not look so great on the ground, but was able to weather the storm and landed several hard body kicks to wear down the tough Mendes.  Frankie Edgar (19-4-1) may be a fighter who can exploit Conor’s grappling deficiencies.

THOSE AMAZING BRUCE LEE FILM STUNTS

NOBODY DID THEM LIKE BRUCE LEE?

Bruce Lee as Kato 1966 Green Hornet TV Series

Bruce Lee as Kato 1966 Green Hornet TV Series

San Francisco, CA– Bruce Lee worked out extensively on a trampoline during his years living in Los Angeles. A trampoline in the backyard, there’s a picture of it in his book entitled Bruce Lee’s Fighting Method. In the book, Bruce is seen bouncing about holding dumbbells, all the while using the height to practice his jumping kicks.

NO LEE GYMNASTICS IN BRUCE LEE FLICKS?

Truth be told, Bruce did not perform gymnastic stunts in his films. The cartwheels Lee’s character does after the Sammo Hung fight in Enter The Dragon, was not Bruce. And the jumping backflip Bruce does against Bob Wall in that same flick, well both of these gymnastic moves were performed by Yuen Wah.

JACKIE CHAN A “STAR” IN PEKING OPERA SCHOOL

Yuen Wah was trained at the Peking Opera School along with Jackie Chan and the aforementioned Sammo Hung. The most talented members of the Peking Opera School were called the Seven Little Fortunes.

“SEVEN LITTLE FORTUNES” WAS STUNT TEAM

The group consisted of Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, Yuen Biao, Yuen Wah, Corey Yuen, Yuen Tak, and Yuen Mo. These “Seven Little Fortunes” were used for demonstrations and film work as extras, above and before anyone else at the Peking Opera School.
