Los Angeles, Ca-69% of voters picked Nonito Donaire

Donaire 2012 Fighter of the Year

on the strength of his four solid victories in 2012, Juan Manuel Marquez came in second with 20% of votes, mainly due to his one punch knockout of Manny Pacquiao. Super middleweight king Andre Ward who was dominant in his 10th round TKO victory over current light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson was third with 6 percent of the tallies, but only fought once. Unified 140lb champ Danny Garcia placed fourth with 3 percent of votes. Austin Trout coming off his impressive victory of Miguel Cotto got only 1% of overall votes.

 

FANS CORRECTLY PICKED MARQUEZ OVER PACQUAIO, BUT BY AN EXTREMELY SLIGHT MARGIN

50% picked a Marquez victory, 48% for Pacquiao, 2 % guessed a draw.

  1. Donaire should not be the fighter of the year. He fought subpar comp. If the idea is who is fighting the most in a year then they might as well have given it to Wilder since he fought what 6 times with all KOs. Mares should of been fighter of the year
