  2. Perfect response Alberto. Now, what happened to that camera guy that was supposed to call me in April?

  3. Cotto. Pac bit off way more than he can chew this time.

  4. Hard to see Cotto winning this one. Pac is the all around better fighter b/t the two. Also, The Pac has the fastest hands in the business and that includes Floyd.

My pick is base on the fact that Cotto is not a good defensive fighter and Pac throw punches in bunches. The straight left or right hook come in very fast and are set up perfect by the Pac.

  6. The only way that Cotto does not win: uncle Cotto comes into the ring full of revenge, throwing bricks to Miguel’s head…

  8. I belive Pac should win but it will be interesting come fight night if cotto weighs 162 to pacquiaos 146 ala gatti-gamache!

  9. Pac TKO11 on cuts in a war. His better stamina will make the difference. Will be a helluva fight, though. And I agree with Alberto also.

  11. Can’t say for sure; no fightnight weight was given for the Clottey fight.

  13. Edge to Pac as well. Cotto is just beginning his downslide while Pac is in his prime even if smaller. Question is whether Pac will be as up for this as he needs to be–any boredom or complacency on his part and there’s an upset. P.S. on unrelated topic: Someone needs to fix the THIS MONTH IN BOXING column. Ortiz stopped Sugar Ramos in the 4th round, not the 1st.

  14. I agree with Jesus on this, it is difficult to see how Cotto may win this. Pac is at his best and Cotto has been in too many wars, especially the Margarito fight.

I just can’t see how Cotto will last. IMHO I see a war for about 5-6 rounds, but then Pac punishes Cotto, TKO 9.

  15. cotto is tough and versatile with advantage in terms of natural weight, but my prediction is go for pacman (decision). i think cotto’s camp will not put the belt on this fight due to oskie request coz oskie will not allow pac to get 7th championship in diff. wght category thats why oskie meet and play golf cotto in PR. i think cotto chance to win this fight is to give pacman pressure at the early rounds 1-6 use his size advantage and execute proper his punches but if the fight go for 12 i think pacman will get a decision .

  16. If Pac gets tagged like the early Morales fights, he’ll be in serious trouble since Cotto’s a legit welter (maybe the best right now along with Shane). Then again, the Pacman is a much complete fighter now so my prediction is a UD for the little guy or even a late stoppage won’t surprise me. My only wish is it won’t be a one-sided affair like his last three so that PBF won’t be totally scared and sign on for an early 2010 dream match.

  17. If this fight goes past the mid-rounds, I think Cotto’s body punching can slow Pac down for a late round stoppage. It depends on how well Cotto handles Pac’s speed.

  18. Cotto will win. Pacquiao’s punching power at this weight is questionable, his KO of Ricky Hatton notwithstanding. Don’t forget that Hatton alos went down to what was essentially a one punch KO at the hands of the feather-fisted Mayweather. Pacquiao hit ODLH with everything, but though he made him quit, he did not stagger him. Meanwhile the punches of both Marquez and Ricky Hatton bothered Pacquiao. The difference in the fight will be that Cotto will be tagged cleanly by Pacquiao and take the punches, whereas Cotto will put Pacquiao on queer street with his punches. Cotto by KO.

  19. Hatton/Floyd and Hatton/Pac occurred in two different divisions. Never saw Pac bothered in any way by Hatton; that was a slaughter, and a lot of JMM’s shots appeared more effective IMHO because of bad balance. Also, since we’re talking about being “bothered,” I’d say Cotto was a lot more “bothered” by Torres, Corley and Judah (discarding the Margarito fight). And DLH always has shown a solid chin (only having been KO’d previously by Hopkins). The KD’s he suffered were mainly flash KD’s, and I include the Quartey one in Rd. 6. If only he’d had heart…
