  3. Hey Pedro, I manage Tyrone Harris (KOed Quinterio) and you are the only one who gave him a chance in this fight. All others believed Tyrone would fail (each time) he stepped up. Pat Ortiz and I had decided several fights ago to drop in weight but could not find a suitable bout at 130lbs so we didn’t. What you seen friday night is really what Tyrone (Bone) can do, when he is mentally ready. I am very proud of his performance and power. GB

  4. Sorry to bore you with details, but Isaac Hlatshwayo is African, not Japanese!

  6. Gary,
Congrats; impressive performance by Tyrone last night. He was starting to slow down a bit before the KO; I thought he was beginning his fading stage, but he had something in the tank after all. Was he merely husbanding his strength for the finishing assault, or was he tiring and just willed himself to the victory?

  9. Kind of a messed up night of fights on Showtime last night. I found it odd, that while tributing the fight to Gatti; Campbell ended up quitting. I don’t know whether he could or couldn’t see. I don’t think he’d b.s. that, but it didn’t look like it was anything detrimental. Even his corner seemed to be trying to calm him down and keep him fighting when he first sat on the stool between rounds. Oh well. Maybe it was legit, but he sure didn’t seem to be having any trouble navigating around the ring finding different folks to cry to. I thought back to what Teddy Atlas was saying about Cotto’s last fight when B. Kenny presented the scenario of Cotto bowing out and taking the scorecards after the 4th round of the Clottey fight. Atlas got pissed, and said that not going out and fighting the next round should never be an option on the mind of the fighter. That’s what being a fighter is. To overcome. If the doctor, or corner stops it; there’s nothing you can do about that. But, don’t try to talk them into it. I liked Campbell, but we all know that there’s a lot of fighters (past and present), who wouldn’t have gone out like that. He just didn’t look like he wanted to fight. The Toney/Rahman reference is apt.

Witter just got broken down mentally, and quit. Watching that fight speaks for itself.

  10. As a fellow Nate fan, I agree with Bow. Kind of reminded me of Guerrero/Yordan as well.

  11. Yep, Toney-Rahman 2 immediately came to mind. You never know what to expect from Campbell
