Pepsi Coliseum, Quebec City, Canada Odds/Prediction:
(Showtime) Jean Pascal (26-1, 16 KOs) vs. Bernard Hopkins (51-5-1, 32 KOs) (World & WBC 175 lb. title) Odds/Prediction: Jean 3-1. One wise guy tells me that Pascal walks through Bernard. Let’s put $900 down to win $300.
Paul Malignaggi (27-4, 5 KOs) vs. Michael Lozada (39-6-1, 29 KOs) Odds/Prediction: Paulie 9-1. Michael Lozada has three straight wins vs. guys that are a combined 2-27-3. Need I say anymore?

Max Schmeling Halle, Berlin, Germany
Marco Huck
(29-1, 23 KOs) vs. Denis Lebedev (21-0, 16 KOs) (WBO 200 lb. title) Odds/Prediction:
Huck 2 1/2 to 1. Huck hasn’t loss since Steve Cunningham in December 2007. Huck should prevail, feeling good, $750 to win $300 on champ at home.
Alexander Povetkin (20-0, 15 KOs) vs. Nicolai Firtha (19-7-1, 8 KOs) Odds/Prediction:Povetkin 12-1. A “work” type of fight, but Firtha will MAKE him work!
Yoan Hernandez (22-1, 11 KOs) vs. Ali Ismailov (18-3-1, 13 KOs) Odds/Prediction: Yoan from Cuba 14-5.

Caliente Racetrack, Tijuana, Mexico
Erik Morales (50-6, 35 KOs) vs. Francisco Lorenzo (35-8, 16 KOs) Odds/Prediction: Erik 8-1. Lorenzo as close to a stiff as you can get sans being one!
Alejandro Sanabria (25-1-1, 20 KOs) vs. Sergio Lopez (12-2, 8 KOs) Odds/Prediction: Sanabria 7-1. Steal of week, dropping $1,400 to win $200.

Campeche, Mexico
(FOX Sports) Ramon Hirales (14-1-1, 8 KOs) vs. Omar Soto (15-6-1, 6 KOs) (WBO 108 lb. title) Odds/Prediction:
Jorge Arce (55-6-2, 42 KOs) vs. Adolfo Ramos (18-10-1, 8 KOs) Odds/Prediction: Arce 20-1.

Club Once Unidos, Mar del Plata, Argentina
Luis Lazarte (48-9-1, 18 KOs) vs. Ulises Solis (32-2-2, 21 KOs) (IBF 108 lb. title) Odds/Prediction: Luis 13-5 at home. Looks close to even, locale pushing odds.

  1. Anyone televising the Huck-Lebedev/Povetkin-Firtha fights in The States, even if just on line?

  2. Not sold Huck and I am surprised Pete that you didn’t do your homework on this one. Lebedev disadvantage is that they are fighting in Germany, however he’s a big puncher and Huck has average defense and the fact that he was stopped by Cunningham shows his chin is nothing special. I’d put money on the underdog, even with those short odds. This looks to be fight that hopefully you can find on justin.tv.

  3. I bet Huck-Lebedev was the best bout of the weekend. Too bad I couldn`t get near a computer in time to see it. However if someone has a link to a channel that hosts a replay i `d be interested in watching it (although I`ll probably need to go to a cyber cafe as I have probably alreaqdy racked up extra charges from my ISP this billing period).

I wouldn`t write off Hukich`s chin so soon. He is a converted TWD/Kickboxer who is even know a work in progress, and in the Cunninghma fight he was giving away significant ring know how. I think it says as much about himm that he went into the 12th with Cunningham at that stage of his development than the fact he coulndn`t get out of it.

However if he doesn`t significantly improve his ability to protect himself, he`s going to go life & death against decent competition and the demands placed on his chin may be too great.
