San Francisco, CA–Having taken Saturday off for both personal and professional reasons, the Sunday show, a one-hour recap of the week in boxing and MMA, is the only new hour of Ring Talk Worldwide until this coming Saturday at 11 AM PT. That being said, we covered a lot of MMA and some boxing, as cage fights were taking place in Sweden, Kansas, even Tampa, FL, MMA out-shined boxing this weekend. My guest is UFC light heavyweight Kyle Kingsbury. He and I covered the results and the previews in MMA. As for boxing, it picks up next week with Nonito Donaire-Guillermo Rigondeaux on HBO from NYC. My guest on the Sunday show was Austin Trout, the WBA 154 lb. champion is less than three weeks away from his unification bout with WBC counterpart Saul Alvarez. Stashed away at 8,000 abve sea level, Trout is “ahead of schedule,” so says trainer Louie Burke.

To some Joe Frazier was a great fighter and a good man. In my opinion, an Olympic Gold medal and the World heavyweight championship, combined are enough to be called “great.” But the Joe Frazier I remember was bitter, charged fans for autographs at events where other noted champions were not, and then there was Evander Holyfield-Vaughn Bean, an IBF title tiff in Atlanta back around the turn of the century. Working for Don King on the International TV, I went into Bean’s dressing room and both Frazier and Butch Lewis, Bean’s promoter, were drunk!

San Francisco, CA- He is the “mouth that roars” in the UFC world. A former middleweight (185 lbs.) title challenger Chael Sonnen, is facing UFC light heavyweight (205) champion Jon Jones in late April.
