New York, NY- Classic clip in which legendary trainer and Hall of Famer Emanuel Steward wakes up a complaisant Lennox Lewis against a faded version of former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson. This verbal thrashing inspired Lennox to eventually knockout Tyson. As a result; this speech would often be imitated by many well respected trainers, but never duplicated. Legend does his job.
What Johnny didn’t point is that what prompted Emanuel to go nuts here was the behavior of referee Eddie Cotton. He was looking for a reason to DQ LL, that’s what Emanuel (and I) were thinking.
