DO PHOTOS SAY MANNY IS ON STERIODS?

November 10th, 2009 By Pedro Fernandez

San Francisco, CA- Unfortunately, the use of Steroids is prevalent in most sports these day. From high school gridiron, baseball, to the major leagues, NFL, as well as the world of amateur and professional golf. Essentially, everybody is looking for an edge. The question of Manny Pacquiao taking Steroids has been brought up on many occasions, most recently by Kermit Cintron on the most recent edition of the longest running fight show in history, “Ring Talk Worldwide,” hosted by yours truly.

CAN YOU TELL BY THESE PHOTOS OF MANNY?

The reason why this subject is worthy of discussion is that Manny Pacquiao has risen from 107 lbs. to nearly 145 lbs. and has no water weight gain at all. When Roberto Duran moved up past welterweight (147) after a lightweight (135) title run, his body just got thicker, not ripped or buffed. Here we have some photos of Manny from recent years that might help you in reaching an opinion as to whether or not he has taken Steroids.

  1. 1) Photos alone cannot determine if someone is taking steroids. When a fighter fails a drug test, or is listed on Balco’s client role, or admits it, then people can make their accusations.

    2) The photo you posted of Pacquiao in a bikini just convinced me of what a lot of people have been accusing you of, which is that your completely biased against Manny Pacquiao and that you don’t even make a pretense of neutrality or fairness. I think I’m done visiting your site.

  2. Hysterical! How to take something serious and have fun with it!

Stan on November 10th, 2009 at 9:45 AM
  3. Ridiculous. Yeah, Duran, what was that 1975? Almost no fighters looked ripped back then. I tend to agree that these accusations against Pacquiao are fueled by bias, maybe even racism. Without any evidence to support them, they are also unethical. “The question has been brought up” is meaningless. Morons “bring up” ridiculous questions all the time. Manny started his career when he was 17 years old.

    Those are breast implants.

  5. I used to like Manny…that was before I realized he likes to dress up in womens clothing! Lighten up people! If you can’t have a sense of humor than life isn’t worth living. By the way, I don’t think he uses steroids, nothing about him screams cheater.

  6. Pedro, if you are so hung up on pictures, why not show us a picture of yourself that wasn’t taken twenty-some years ago and we can decide if your on roids. People put on weight as they age and they also get ripped the more they work out. I don’t know if he is or isn’t, but it’s not fair to tarnish his reputation without any evidence. Why not go after Mosley and Jones? What’s your hang up with Paq.

  7. Wow. Your attempt at humor is just sad, Pedro. Your attempt at getting more radio ratings is diabolically clever, though.

  8. No Manny is not on Steriods but he can definitely be on one of the hundreds of performance enhancing substances used to cheat by Athletes. They’re undetectable because steriods tests aren’t testing for them. They need to develop a test that will identify any foreign substance in an Athletes system. Mosley was not using a Steriod, he was using a performance enhancing drug which increased his strength and stamina. It was never detected but in the Balco Case Mosley along with many other athletes were identified as customers who ordered drugs with performance enhancing side effects.. So Yes Manny could easily be on a performance enhancing substance.. EZ especially in the Phillipines where anything is obtainable at a low price.

  9. I agree with KP. Some folks attacking Pedro for that humorous Pac photo, lighten the hell up.

  10. I think what pisses some off here is that Pedro raises the question of Manny’s possible steroid use while making fun of the question. For some, it is slander pretending to be a joke. As for me, I laughed when I opened the page, and think you can’t help but wonder on some level. The Duran comparison is a good one–I’ve often compared Manny to Roberto, but I think their difference explains the body-difference. Roberto may have been a greater natural talent, but Manny is a more disciplined. athlete, and may finally end up with a greater reputation because of that. Maybe he respects Roach more than Roberto did Arcel and Brown.

  11. Why is everyone so obsessed with objectivity? No human being is capable of being unbiased. Watch the movie “Rashomon” sometime. Why should anyone bother trying to be balanced? Accept your prejudices and get on with your life, guys.

And LOL is that Michelle Malkin?

Frances on November 10th, 2009 at 6:34 PM
  12. Rashomon is proof of the brilliance of Kurosawa. I agree that true objectivity is probably not humanly possible, but it is something that is nice to strive for when looking for a proof of concept, but for that you need facts and there are none to be had here just supposition…. and a really funny picture….

  13. Frances Martel is promoting bias in articles. Can’t say I’m surprised. Nice touch of racism there, too.

  14. The Pacman is definitely on steroid. Just look at those BOOBS!

Junjun on November 10th, 2009 at 11:29 PM
  15. Frances, the girl on the pic is actually Manny and Michelle Malkin’s lovechild…the perfect she-male ever to walk this earth.

Junjun on November 10th, 2009 at 11:33 PM
  16. i agree with Gary G.
Those are fake breasts that Manny is showing. Manny has smaller breasts than that, and I know he has inverted nipples.

tony on November 11th, 2009 at 4:14 AM
  17. Francis, I’m afraid making bias a universal principle is no improvement on making naive objectivity a general principle. Too easy an epistemic or ethical answer–but as a question it keeps things in motion

Antonino on November 11th, 2009 at 7:13 AM
  18. Or, rather, Frances–pardon the gender slip; the Manny photo had its impact!

Antonino on November 11th, 2009 at 7:13 AM
  19. I hate to say this but PED abuse is so rampant today, I think I’d be far more surprised to find out that Manny WASN’T on Steroids than I would be to find out that he was… And if Manny is clean, I apologize but don’t be upset at me. Be upset that the culture of rampant PED abuse brings into question every great athlete’s accomplishments, including yours.

And while some are offended by the picture of Manny as a woman and others are amused by it… I look at it and am indifferent. After all, Steroid users DO use the female pregnancy drug hCG to jump start their testicles after cycling on steroids that eventually turn off the male body’s ability to produce Testosterone so are these type of pictures REALLY that offensive or far fetched anymore?

  20. big chuck shadowski,

I know Pedro… He looks like THAT… TODAY.
Pedro’s in great shape. He takes care of himself!

  21. Chuck, I don’t post pictures for Gay guys to have fun with. I have a 30 1/2 inch waist. What’s yours? Put a picture up of your fat arse sir.

  22. That was Pedro’s picture, during the haloween party.

  23. I didn’t know Pacman has nice tits. This should be enough to soften Cotto. Without bra, those tits would really become a total distraction. Cotto might want to take off his gloves and feel it… of course without looking at Pac’s face!

  24. pedro has been known to be anti-pacquaio, so it is understandable for him to post this kinds of negative articles on the filipino. it just shows you how narrow minded this person is. and how low his attitude stadard really is.

waaa on November 11th, 2009 at 9:34 PM
  25. Pedro how dumb can you get? How many times Pacquiao got tested for illegal substances? He passed them all.Pics can’t prove anything.I’m beginning Pedro is just envious of Pacquiao’s successs.

Benny Antonio on November 13th, 2009 at 5:04 AM
  26. LMAO at the pics. Yeah there’s been speculation on Pacman – even my GF brought it up after he tapped Oscar’s ass. But hey, he’s never failed a test and there’s no doubt he trains like a MFer during camp.
