HBO PAID FOR SPIKE LEE FILM ON MIKE TYSON COMEBACK
DIIFERENT SIDE OF DE LA HOYA
San Francisco, CA– Having known Oscar De La Hoya since he was a skinny 17-year old Olympic hope, you can say the “Golden Boy” of boxing has evolved in the 25 years since. When my producer called him in 1990, I can remember his late mother Cecilia saying, “Oscar, telefono.”
MOM WANTED HIM TO SING
A 2004 self titled album that was panned after Oscar failed to deliver when singing a Bee Gee’s song, “Run To Me,” on The Tonight Show. This video has boxing clips that coincide with De La Hoya and his wife Millie Corretjer.

VIDEO EXCLUSIVE BY RINGTALK
Las Vegas, NV-Yesterday an enthusiastic crowd of not only media, but a litany of fans awaited Floyd Mayweather’s arrival at Mayweather Boxing Club in the Chinatown section of Las Vegas. Zab Judah, David Hasselhoff and rapper Lil’ Kim also were in attendance.
Floyd’s grand arrival was roughly minutes after 4pm. He initially fielded questions for boxing writers in the outside tent on what was an extremely windy day in Sin City.
He then went inside the gym and did video and audio interviews with the various media outlets. As much criticism as the brash sports star gets, he obviously loves the media attention but made sure to try his best to give as many one on one interviews as time allowed. He also got down on the pads and did mitt work and well as other various exercises. Mayweather faces Manny Pacquiao in the biggest money fight in boxing history on May 2nd.

DURAN “MOTIVATED” FOR PALAMINO
San Francisco, CA– This was essentially a title eliminator for the WBC 147 lb. (welterweight) title then held by Wilfred Benitez, Roberto Duran, the recognized lightweight (135) champion for years vs former WBC (147) titleholder Carlos Palamino at Madison Square Garden as part of a Don King Productions card under World heavyweight champion Larry “The Easton Assassin” Holmes‘ TKO 12 over Mike “Hercules” Weaver on June 22, 1979. Palamino’s corner featured LA’s Jackie McCoy and Benny Georgino while Roberto had East Coast guys Freddie Brown and Ray Arcel. Read more
GONZALEZ DEFENDS IN VEGAS, BROOK IN UK
Las Vegas, NV– In 2013 former three time world champion Jhonny Gonzalez (57-8, 48 KOs) silenced any and all critics. Viewed as a shot fighter, certainly past his prime, Johnny knocked out heavily favored WBC 126 lb. champ Abner Mares in what was a huge upset.
CAN JHONNY UPSET AL HAYMON’S GUY (AGAIN)?
Since stopping Mares, he has defended th WBC featherweight (126 lb.) title twice. The 33 year-old faces a formidable challenger on Saturday in former U.S. Olympian Gary Russell Jr.(25-1. 14 KOs), Live from the Palms Casino in Las Vegas, NV.
RUSSELL “CODDLED” ON WAY UP
The American, once a hot prospect has received criticism for facing weak opposition in building an undefeated mark. He lost a clear decision last year against two-time Olympic Gold medal winner Vasyl Lomachenko (3-1, 1 KOs). This time Russell steps in against a veteran with formidable punching power. Ironically, the Mexican champion is the betting underdog here in town.

FANS NOT ALLOWED AT PRESS CONFERENCE!
In the first and only press conference, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao faced off for the first time in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theatre on Wednesday. Unfortunately the press conference was not open to the public. A possible miscalculation by the events organizers? Is the buzz waning for this mega-matchup two weeks after it was signed?
LEGENDARY FIGHTERS NEED TO PUT UP OR SHUT UP!
Las Vegas, NV– Neither Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao deserve any love from sports fans at this point of their careers. Negotiations for the one fight that basically every person who has the slightest interest in boxing wants to see has appeared to hit a brick wall. Currently the vacationing Mayweather claims that he is fighting on May 2nd at MGM Grand in Las Vegas regardless of the opponent. Bob Arum, Manny Pacquiao’s promoter, has been giving increasingly contradictory comments to the press. The fighters claim they want to fight one another, but so far “No Cigar.”
The networks Showtime and HBO, who are to supposed to be partners in this deal have also given conflicting information. The public, while losing faith that this fight will come to fruition is also losing patience. Both sides just need to sit down and iron out a deal. One has to wonder if ego’s from both sides is what is preventing this deal from being worked out.

WBO AND WBA 122LB CHAMP HAS A ROUGH NIGHT IN JAPAN
Las Vegas,NV– Junior featherweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux (15-0, 10 KOs) was a huge favorite over Hisashi Amagasa (28-5-2, 19 KOs) last night at the Bodymaker Colosseum in Osaka, Japan. The Japanese challenger however didn’t appear to follow the script as he dropped the Cuban amateur star twice in round seven.
Rigondeaux did dominate the majority of the rounds over his abnormally tall 5’11 opponent. The 5’4 Cuban turned on the heat in the later rounds dropping his foe in round 10. Guillermo delivered a merciful beating in round 11. Read more
