FIGHT WEEK IS HERE!
Floyd-Pac A Classic?
Las Vegas, NV– It’s just five days away. Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao will finally meet. All the hoopla about ticket prices, Mayweather’s convictions of Domestic Violence, all this outside of the ring stuff is getting more attention than the event. For the exorbitant ticket prices and $100 dollar PPV, it can’t just be good, it needs to be great. So that begs the question you are asked to vote on. Read more
VIDEO EXCLUSIVE BY RINGTALK
Las Vegas, NV-Yesterday an enthusiastic crowd of not only media, but a litany of fans awaited Floyd Mayweather’s arrival at Mayweather Boxing Club in the Chinatown section of Las Vegas. Zab Judah, David Hasselhoff and rapper Lil’ Kim also were in attendance.
Mayweather Media day
Floyd’s grand arrival was roughly minutes after 4pm. He initially fielded questions for boxing writers in the outside tent on what was an extremely windy day in Sin City.
He then went inside the gym and did video and audio interviews with the various media outlets. As much criticism as the brash sports star gets, he obviously loves the media attention but made sure to try his best to give as many one on one interviews as time allowed. He also got down on the pads and did mitt work and well as other various exercises. Mayweather faces Manny Pacquiao in the biggest money fight in boxing history on May 2nd.

HOPKINS FACES FIGHTER 18 YEARS HIS JUNIOR
BERNARD HOPKINS, WBA and IBF Light-heavyweight champion
Lets hope Hopkins doesn’t go out like this.
RECORD-55-6-2, 32 KOs
SERGEY KOVALEV, WBO Light-heavyweight champion
RECORD-25-0-1, 23 KOs
ANALYSIS AND PREDICTION
The signifigant factor here in favor of Hopkins is his jab. He has an almost 3 inch reach advantage. If he can control Kovalev with his jab from the outside and smother the Russian on the inside he has a chance. Kovalev just needs to fight like the younger man to win. He has the skill, athleticism and power to beat the 49 year old. Got to go with the younger man here. Must side with logic. Even though Kovalev has never gone past 8 rounds, not sure if Bernard has the reflexes to take him into deep water with out taking too much punishment early in the fight. A stubborn Hopkins is in a fight he didn’t need to take. He won’t get too much credit for beating Kovalev if he wins. People will cry that he was overrated. Bernard has a great chin, but just don’t see him making the distance here.

PREDICTIONS AND POLL ON HBO FIGHTS ON SATURDAY!
Saturday, July 26th, Madison Square Garden
Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (29-0, 26 KOs) vs Daniel Geale(30-2, 16 KOs).
For Golovkins WBA middleweight title.
ODDs-Golovkin 4-1 favorite.
Golovkin’s toughest test thus far. Former champion Geale is formidable, but lacks punching power, and defense is average. Would be surprised at a Geale win or a close fight. Aussie might be able to win a couple of rounds on grit and experience, but may get stopped late. “GGG” is looking for his 17th stoppage win in a row.
HEAVYWEIGHT PROSPECTS CLASH IN 50/50 AFFAIR
Bryant Jennings (18-0, 10 KOs) vs Mike Perez (20-0-1, 12 KOs)
ODDs– Jennings 7-5 favorite
Close fight but lean towards Jennings. Perez an unpredictable commodity after ending the career of Magomed Abdusalamov last year. Read more

READERS OVERWHELMINGLY FAVORED FLOYD
Here are the poll results for Floyd Mayweather vs Canelo Alvarez. Mayweather won a majority decision.
USA VS. Mexico
MAYWEATHER BY KO:9.8%
CANELO BY KO:12.6%
Mayweather put on a clinic versus Alvarez who fought with little sense of urgency. The Mexican star had a strategy that he was going to outbox the master boxer. Just like Robert Guerrero who was dominated by Mayweather in his last outing, he came to the fight with no alternate game plan and allowed the now 45-0 Mayweather to coast to victory.
