Las Vegas, NV- Bob Arum is the most powerful man in boxing! As the man behind the Top Rank promotional firm, Arum, a Harvard graduate in the late 1950s, became a United States Attorney under then Attorney General Robert Kennedy. While collecting tax money from a Sonny Liston heavyweight title defense circa 1962, Arum was bitten by the boxing bug. After the assassination of President John Kennedy, Arum felt the need to resign his position with the “G” and became a boxing promoter.

With Muhammad Ali his first client, Arum has been involved in big fights since the mid 1960s. His most famous quote is, “Yesterday I was lying, but today I’m telling the truth.”
MET WITH & THEN SENT BRIBE MONEY TO LEE
In the mid 1990s, Arum committed a host of Felonies when he admittedly gave then IBF President Bob Lee over $100,000 as a “bribe” to allow George Foreman, then heavyweight champ, to fight Axel Schultz instead of a top contender. He accomplished this by laundering the money through Europe with then booking agent Stan Hoffman. Shortly thereafter, Arum admitted such in a US Dept. of Justice affidavit that was published here at RingTalk.com. The fallout saw Arum fined in a number of states, while unable to promote in Arizona.
ARUM SUED IN LAS VEGAS
This writer sued Arum after he was quoted in a Las Vegas newspaper stating, “He (Pedro Fernandez) isn’t a real boxing writer.” Arum settled out of court for $10,000.

Now close to 80 years of age, Arum is still the most powerful man in boxing! One could only debate whether that would be the case if Don King had admitted to such crimes. We welcome Bob “The Sheik” Arum to the Ring Talk “Wall of Shame.”

Great stuff Pedro…LMFAOL It’s almost too funny..Still Pedro, don’t hate the player, hate the game…And on top of that Arum shut up on the cheap for ten 10k. Hell, Arum might ask you to return the 10K as he might have had you sign some type of confidentiality contract…
I do not give a flying fart how you look at Arum, dirt is dirt. If you screw over a boxer once, maybe a slight mistake, but do it again, call the attorney general NEVER MIND, YOU CAN’T… He and Arum may be in bed together, not for sex, just screwing someone other than a fighter for a change. When my folks said that money was the root of all evil, they never mentioned Bob Arum, oh but I have corrected them on the subject…But always remember the final clause, “If you beat my guy, I own you for the next XXX fights, take it or you are not fighting my guy.. It is a no lose posistion for the Matchbox King……………I had a fighter who became part of TR, due to the options within the contract and after we lost to Arums kid, he never released my fighter (who I no longer represent) but who hasn’t fought for over six months (24-5-0-15) and sits idle for who knows how long.. Where is the fair playing field… Oh ya, in Arums front room only…………………
Nice work P. He’s a vile pig. Few people have the balls to say it, and I commend you for calling a spade a spade. Arum is a noxious creature; the sooner he’s gone from boxing the better.
For bribing a boxing body to include a fighter of Arum’s choosing, and for saying “He isn’t a boxing writer does not qualify Arum in Boxing’s Hall of Shame. This title belongs to the likes of loading gloves, murdering for boxing, crooked scoring, and many others. We might as well name majority of boxing judges who because of their crooked scoring have derailed many a fighter or caused people lose tons of money in the betting windows. Many people behind the scenes involved in fight-fixing might also vie for the title. Count ALL the blessings Arum has done. These two “shameless acts” of Arum is peanuts and can be shrugged off as minute. I think Pedro has taken this too personally against Arum. And for it to become a written article dedicated solely to Arum shows it.
All top rank are scamers that take advantage’lie’screw whoever to put money in there pocket…bob arum…Bruce trampler…peter mkinn…Mary rose Wilcox…John montanyo (az commision)…cameron dunkin….there is more but whoever is associated with these people have commited major crimes guaranteed!
how oscar dela hoya is not in the wall of shame… bad match-ups, bad judging, bad promotion, doesn’t know what he says…etc..
