  1. What is your prediction for Malignaggi vs Senchenko Pedro? Paulie might need a KO for a draw, and that ain’t gonna happen!

  2. Ugly unapealling nobody really wants but it has to happen for integrity reasons. No way Dawson should have gotten the title in that manner, but there’s also no way Hopkins should keep it without a rematch, so one of these two can lose the title properly.

Hopkin’s body giving out (hello 48!) in the last fight is a bad omen as well as his uncharacteristic response to it, it also looked in the first 3 rounds that Dawson might be to big for hopkins to work an inside game effectively which takes away another avenue for him to win.

On the other hand, it’s not all black & white – all things considered the first three rounds vs Dawson didn;t go nearly as bad as the early rounds of both fights vs. Pascal where he was wobbled a few times, and he went on to draw & win with the guy who after all beat Dawson, so if Hopkins hasn’t deteriorated any farther, he might be able to do the same tonight.

However, the deeper issue is that Hopkins seems to lose confidence when facing these “all round athlete” types (see Taylor) and is slightly psyched out from the beginning. I think it will turn out to be a negative effort by both guys with Dawson taking a decision, if for nothing else than looking more the part – and hey. if Hopkis is willing to buy it, why not the judges.
