PROMOTER ARRAIGNED FOR CRIMES VS BOXING

Phoenix, AZ- When it came right down to it, the only supportive people that were in an Arizona courtroom today were the parents of the indicted boxing promoter Peter McKinn. During the proceedings, the charges were read to the defendant, in addition to some audio tapes of Gabe Esqueda, formerly McKinn’s flunky and the man who swore in affidavit that he was present when Joe Diaz, the manager of “Yory Boy” Campas, received $5,000 in cash. Now we know that Diaz’ signature was forged on the cash receipt. In addition to some wiretapped conversations between Esqueda and McKinn, Esqueda turned on his ex-boss and taped some chats himself before giving them to prosecutors.
PETER CARRIED BOB ARUM’S WATER IN ARIZONA
The 48 year old McKinn was Top Rank’s front man in the state after promoter Bob Arum was prohibited from promoting in Arizona after he admitted to a number of Felonies in the 1990s that included Bribery. McKinn is being held on charges of Grand Theft, Forgery, Perjury, Conspiracy, and Fraud. With the bail being a mere $10,000 (cash only), one would think that the powerful people that McKinn aided, mainly Arum and ex-Asst. Boxing Commission Director John Montano, might have already found a way to secure his release.

Every turn of the calendar that Peter McKinn is in custody makes him more likely to tell all if offered a deal. With the Feds involved, and having had Arum’s company slip through their hands when Operation Matchbox went down the tubes a few years ago, it doesn’t take a psychic to realize that they would prefer “bigger fish” than punk ass Peter McKinn.
MCKINN HAS NEARLY SIX WEEKS BEFORE NEXT COURT DATE
McKinn was arraigned in the Durango jail cell via videotape this morning. He will next appear in court to enter a plea to the aforementioned charges on November 15. Unless he’s already been “bought & paid for,” I suspect that McKinn will try and work a deal that will reduce and or eliminate his going to Arizona State Prison. Although I despise McKinn personally for his actions against me while I was in Phoenix, I will always have a soft spot for the “fall guy” in this type of situation.

That being said, if a deal between the culpable hasn’t been reached, the people doing business on Howard Hughes Blvd., notably Top Rank matchmaker Bruce Trampler and his cohorts, just like during Matchbox, I wouldn’t be expecting them to be sleeping all that well for quite a while. De ja vu Bruce, it’s all night cold sweats all over again!

Pedro, I had a boxer who fought a Top Rank guy and Bob had options (I would not have signed but my guy got an additional $4500.00 per fight) and already held the USBA and was 24-4-0-16. Now with TR, (although I was finished 10-1-09) he has set idle since last Feb. I hope you assist in their total take down. I manage boxers for 10-15% when I accept it and never, ever have taaken one dime side-money (but have been offered it many, many, times). When will folks realize that the guys who get the lumps, also get the “Lions Share”he prize.. Keep up the good work, as you know, there are some really good guys in this filthy sport. God Bless

Anyone that has had a problem with the Az.boxing commission should make their stories known as soon as possible,The Govenors office is a good place to start,If they refer you to the Az States ombudsmans office,Tell them you heard that office has been ineffective in investigating the Az Boxing Comm.,Everyone now is the time.Good Luck and God Speed!

Pedro great stuff keep me posted on this situation. I actually had the honor of meeting Mr Mcinn on one ocassion and right away he struck me as a scum bag character. I did not relise that Matchbox was? still going or reignited for that matter. Kudos to Mr Diaz for having the balls to stick to his guns for such a long time.

Fat Norm is trying to defend his actions. Somebody ask that prick Frauenheim, a urinal-iust, about the late night-early morning phone call he made to Joe Diaz, with Bruce Trampler in tow, where that piece of **** taunted Joe ? They laughed at Joe, called him names, and this was from Norm’s cell phone.
Campas never said he got his money. And Norm, the fraud that he is, never mentioned that the Phoenix PD have McKinn on a wiretap telling Gabe Esqueda, “They can’t do nothing if you stick to your story.” The forged receipt is the centerpiece. It was in Mary Rose Wilcox’s possession for two+ years and was never released until the County Attorney released it under a Freedom of Information” type of request. The Joe Diaz “certified liar” stamp was sent from Mary Rose Wilcox’s office, then Commission chair and Maricopa County Supervisor.
In closing, I’ve seen guys with huhtzpah (spell?) before, but Norm takes the friggen cake. All this stuff happened on his watch, and because he was biased (or bought & paid for) he never reported smack. The audacity of him to even imply this is Politics shows that all that drinking he did over the years, whether he doesn’t now or not, pickled his brain!
Keep it up Norm, like McKinn, Montano and the Wilcox’s, your day will come too when you are under oath.
