El Paso, TX-(ESPN 2) Antonio Escalante (21-2, 13 KOs) UD 10 Cornelius Lock (18-4-1, 11 KOs) In a gross mismatch Antonio Escalante was in complete control throughout over Cornelius Lock. Escalante knocked his foe off of his feet twice in #3 and rocked him on several other occasions. In the end the cards read 100-88 twice & 98-90.

UIC Pavilion, Chicago, IL- Fres Oquendo (31-5, 20 KOs) TKO 9 Bruce Seldon(40-8, 26 KOs)
Fres looked impressive like he always does when he faces a lesser opponent. This time it was former WBA champ Seldon. Oquendo out boxed an in shape Seldon throughout the fight. And when he pushed forward, his aggression was ineffective against the quicker Oquendo. Fres’ strategic combinations had Seldon in serious problems in #7, but was saved by the bell. Seldon then took a knee in the 8th after absorbing punishment, and again in the ninth when he was counted out at was 2:35. Oquendo has never been able to fight in this manner against class upper echelon competition.

TOP RANK PPV RESULTS FROM NUEVO VALLARTA, MEXICO
Tyson Marquez UD 10 Juan Esquer . Against a higher caliber fighter Tyson Marquez’ (25-0, 18 KOs) porous defense would have been exploited more. Marquez, hurt by Esquer (25-6-1, 19 KOs) in the seventh round, was able to keep focused and hurt Esquer again on several occasions. Scores: 98-92, 99-91 & 100-91.

Juan Alberto Rojas W10 Alejandro Martinez . It was as tough as a non-competitive fight can get. Tougher than expected Alejandro Martinez (13-2-1, 11 Kos) fought Juan Alberto Rojas (29-5, 24 Kos) mainly on the inside but was outclassed and out boxed by the more experienced Rojas over ten rounds. In the end the judges saw it 99-91, 99-91, and 100-87.

Giovanni Segura KO 6 Juanito Rubillar (WBA 108 lb. title) He tried to catch lightning in a bottle, but wasn’t even close. Late sub Rubillar (46-13-7, 22 KOs) was thoroughly beaten by WBA champion Giovani Segura (21-1-1, 17 KOs). Although he was throwing shots, Rubillar’s corner threw in the towel in round six to stop the beating. Time 2:04.

Miguel Acosta KO9 Urbano Antillon WBA interim 135 lb. title. Good back and forth action in this fight between Miguel Acosta (26-9-2, 20 KOs) and Urbano Antillon (26-1, 19 Kos). It was a fast early pace with Acosta’s constant movement frustrating an aggressive Antillon as the rounds went on. A perfect right uppercut walked into by Antillon knocked him down and ended the fight in #9. Antillon got up but the referee decided he was unable to continue. Time 1:47.
